Slap Technique

When you mention bass guitar slap technique the first name that comes to mind is Larry Graham, or at least it should be.

He was the bass guitar player for Sly & the Family Stone & founded the funk band Graham Central Station (get it?)

Larry Graham is credited with inventing the slap technique… he calls it Thumpin’ & Pluckin’. This technique, as well as some variants, are used by bassist like Less Claypool, Marcus Miller, Bernard Edwards, Flea and many others.

Instead of reading about it why not let Larry Graham show you how it’s done?

That’s classic Larry Graham.

Visit Vintage Bass Guitar after the video to read about all-time classic bass guitars.
